Integrative Mental Health Day, IPM Congress

Recently I had the joy & honour of co-chairing the integrative mental health day at @ipmcongress with the fabulous @mindhealth360

It was a day packed full of incredibly inspiring speakers, challenging our current system and bringing much needed hope for the future of mental health.

  • Dr Michael Dixon set the scene of the current mental health crisis and how our current model is failing so many

  • @doc_amen explaining how mental illness is actually Brain Health issue - and can be reversed

  • Dr Debby Hamilton talking about importance of recognising & support adolescents mental health

  • Dr Jenny Goodman highlighting awareness of the impact of toxins on our mental health

  • Dr Sharon Hausman-Cohen on how genomics can aid targeted treatment with mental illness

  • Sam Burkey guided us through a yoga practice, “a returning home to your body”

  • Professor Craig Shimasaki expertly walking us through recognising how infections can trigger mental illness

  • A panel discussion on the importance of spirituality in healthcare with @drranibora

  • A fascinating walk through the ongoing impact of our many survival instincts on our health & behaviour with @drolivialesslar

  • Exploring ADHD and the cross over with hyper mobility & other symptoms with Dr James Kustow

  • A dive into the crucial importance of gut health on our brains and mood with D Jill Carnahan

  • @deanornishmd providing hope for the future, how to reverse dementia through lifestyle changes.
